Condition 2 (Settled Spores)

Condition 3 (Actual Growth)

An area with the presence of actual mould growth and its associated spores. Growth can be active or dormant, visible or hidden.

Our steps for mould removal

Mould remediation involves eliminating the moisture source, mould removal and prevention of mould growth.

1. Initial Assessment

Our experts assess the origin of the mould, its identity and extent of amplification of mould contamination in the affected area. For safety measures, samples are collected and analysed in a laboratory after which we develop a remediation plan.

We consider the structure and contents during our initial inspection process. To examine the extent of the damage, we use moisture sensors, moisture meters, thermo-hygrometer, and infrared thermometers.

2. Eliminating the moisture source

Mould grows in damp non-ventilated areas. If there is a moisture present because of a water damaged situation, then we determine the cause of moisture intrusion and eliminate the inflow of water. We then initiate water damage drying program to improve humidity and remove moisture as fast as we can. If pipes are leaking or there is a rupture, call a local plumber to fix and repair.

For extracting the moisture, we may use dehumidifiers to dry the affected area quickly. An appropriate moisture mitigation process will be used to prevent the growth of mould further and ensure that contamination does not spread to non-contaminated areas.

3. Restrict the contaminated area

We seal off the infected area to prevent the spreading of mould spores. This restriction is necessary to avoid health hazards.

4. Documentation

All the conditions and work progress will be documented on an on-going basis during the remediation process.

5. Contamination removal

The physical removal of contamination or mould decontamination is the primary process of remediation. Depending upon the condition of the mould, the structure and the degree of contamination, we plan appropriate mould removal process. At this stage, we will know the items that can are salvageable and the ones that need to be disposed of.

We cut out the mould as per the industry guidelines, and appropriate cleaning treatments are applied to remove the mould. We use HEPA vacuum to remove mould spores from your carpet, upholstery, mattress and other soft or hard surfaces that are exposed to mould contamination.

6. Air purification

We use air purifiers at all stage to capture the spreading air-borne mould spores from the air.

7. Thorough cleaning of items

Wash all the clothing, bed items, soft toys and fabric materials in a washing machine. Other soft furnishings that cannot be cleaned in a washing machine should either be cleaned professional or be thrown out.

All the hard surfaces will be cleaned with a detergent depending upon the surface type. If you are doing it on your own, do not use bleach with detergents because it releases dangerous fumes that can pose a health risk.

8. Sanitisation and odour control

We use antibacterial disinfectant to sanitise the affected area and odour control therapy to remove any harmful smell.

9. Prevention of mould growth

Mould can regrow if the affected area was not cleaned and dried correctly. Hence to reduce the chance of mould regrowth, hire a mould remediation professional.

10. Structural restoration

Our mould removal experts can demolish the structure, and we can also organise to rebuilt, plaster and paint the structure under our supervision. We can also arrange ceiling repairs and provide solutions for water ingress issues. We work with a fellow tradesperson who understands our demands to ensure complete mould remediation.
